Free Websites to Be Donated to Small Towns in NC

Free websites will be donated to two municipalities or counties located in North Carolina by Viforce, Inc. Viforce hopes to give small towns or counties a chance to be more visible on the Internet, promote themselves to visitors, residents, and businesses, and possibly bring more revenue to their areas.

Viforce is a small, woman-owned business that relocated to Thomasville, NC in 2011. In an effort to “put small town America on the map – virtually,” Viforce came up with a plan to give away two free websites. Small town, county or tribal governments, visitor centers, parks, police, and fire departments, and more are all eligible to apply for a free website. The websites will consist of complete web design, a content management system so the town can update their own website, and several common municipality website features such as event calendars, document attachments, and directories.
The giveaway kicks off February 15, 2012 and any government or government department with a population of 75,000 or less is encouraged to fill out a brief online application. Residents are welcome to suggest to their town mayor or manager that they fill out the application, but only an appointed town employee may complete the application. Applications will be accepted until March 15th and 2 agencies will be chosen and notified within one week. Viforce anticipates the completed websites to go live by summer.
For full details and the online application, please visit http://www.viforce.com/giveaway.html  or call (336) 313-6228 for additional information.
